The “CBC AOZORA FARM” was opened in July 2023 as part of CBC’s D&I and CSR promotion to create a place where people with disabilities can also work actively. In this article, we will introduce the journey of the “CBC AOZORA FARM” from its launch to the first harvest and the Vegetable Marché.
Work at the farm started the day after the initiation ceremony. Doing unfamiliar land preparation work in the intense heat was extremely difficult, but the team steadily worked together on each task one by one. It was reassuring to see them complete the cultivation equipment in about three months.
President Masataro Doi also participated in the Harvest Festival, which marked the first harvest. It was a precious time for FARM employees and their families to share the joy of harvesting the vegetables they had grown themselves and to appreciate the importance of food.
The “Vegetable Marché” was held, and the harvested vegetables were distributed to CBC employees as a welfare benefit. Despite their worries about whether the vegetables would be accepted, they were met with the warmth of the CBC employees who lined up and said “thank you” with smiles, which seemed to have given the FARM employees more confidence and motivation.
In addition to social contribution activities such as donating ingredients to children's cafeterias, we plan to further promote D&I and CSR through activities such as normalization training to enable CBC employees to experience FARM operations.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who supported and was involved in this project. We ask you to continue to support the CBC AOZORA FARM project going forward.
